In recent years, Indigenous communities in Canada have experienced a significant increase in heat and air quality events due to wildfires, and environmental reactions to global warming. Under climate change, the frequency of these environmental risks are expected to increase because of rising temperatures and the decrease of available water supplies. This educational toolkit was developed to assist Indigenous communities to better understand current quality of outdoor air, and its effects on wholistic health and wellbeing. It is a guide that could be utilized by community health representative to start or continue dialogue on the effects of air quality. The guide can also be used to decide when it is unsafe to be outside or in your home during a fire, or other events where air quality may be poor
